Pioneering Best Practices in IT Asset Management
Since its inception in 1998, Redemtech has focused on innovation and leadership to identify and address customer needs – often before companies even realized they had a problem that needed a solution. It’s an approach that has established Redemtech as the industry leader delivering results for large enterprises on the triple bottom line of financial, social and environmental sustainability.
"Leader" in Gartner Magic Quadrant for IT Asset Disposition
Redemtech is positioned in the Leaders quadrant in the 2010 Magic Quadrant for North America IT Asset Disposition, Gartner’s first-ever for the ITAD industry. Gartner noted that companies in the Leaders quadrant “execute well against their current robust vision, and are well positioned for the future.” According to Gartner, Redemtech earned its Leader position by meeting stringent certification standards, offering broad geographic coverage with facilities across North America and Europe and ensuring high standards for data security and logistics capabilities.

Raising the Bar for Environmental Stewardship – Again
Redemtech continues to set performance and regulatory compliance standards that benefit our clients worldwide and move the industry forward. Our Environmental Management System was designed to support the highest levels of corporate social responsibility and sustainability—and has the certifications to prove that it is achieving that goal.
e-Stewards® Electronic Recycling Certification
Redemtech is a founder of the e-Stewards Initiative, the fully accredited, independently audited certification program developed by the Basel Action Network (BAN) in collaboration with industry leaders and environmental groups. E-Stewards is the first certification program for electronics recyclers designed to ensure that obsolete electronics will be responsibly and accountably recycled – and not dumped in developing countries.
In April 2010, Redemtech became the first company to achieve e-Stewards Electronic Recycling Certification for all of its U.S. facilities when the program launched. A few months later, Redemtech became the first company to achieve e-Stewards Certification outside the U.S. when its U.K. TCM Centre became the first certified in the European Union.

IDC Green Recycling and Asset Disposal for the Enterprise (G.R.A.D.E.) Certification
Redemtech was among the first group of companies to achieve IDC’s Green Recycling and Asset Disposal for the Enterprise (G.R.A.D.E.) Certification. IDC independently evaluated 25 leading IT asset disposition (ITAD) providers based on 34 functions and tasks related to remote applications, onsite services, logistics, in-plant processing and post treatment. Redemtech was one of only two non-OEMS to be accorded G.R.A.D.E. certification as a result of our significant investments in establishing sound IT asset recovery and disposal processes. Again, our current processes didn’t just meet the G.R.A.D.E. standards—they exceeded the minimum 75 percent passing grade required.

ISO 14001 Certification for Environmental Management
ISO certification can be a rigorous process that is designed to ensure an organization has the processes in place to deliver consistent quality.
Redemtech proactively applied for and achieved ISO 14001 certification for our Environmental Management System (EMS). This certification provides independent third-party validation that we have the processes in place to support our policies and gives our clients added confidence in our ability to secure and manage their assets.

Increasing Reuse, PC Lifecycles and Customer Value
As a pioneering member of the Microsoft Authorized Refurbisher (MAR) program, Redemtech can preinstall genuine Windows software licenses on refurbished PCs sold in the commercial market. As a MAR, Redemtech can fully refurbish laptops, desktops and servers to:
- Bring you even higher return on remarketed assets
- Provide better equipment for redeployment - reducing new purchase costs
- Offer ready supply and low-cost alternative for day-to-day demand and special projects
Redemtech was one of a select group of large refurbishers chosen by Microsoft to launch this program, demonstrating the requisite capabilities including:
- A track record of supplying an average of 5,000 refurbished PCs per month
- The technical competence required to preinstall Windows operating systems
- Appropriate security measures in place to ensure the safe storage and handling of COAs
- Adequate systems for data wiping and reporting, including conformance to Department of Defense (DoD) or similar data wiping standard
- Conformance with applicable local health, safety and environmental regulations

Driving Increased Donations to Charitable Recipients
Non-profit organizations provide critical community services – but often lack basic PC technology to help them streamline operations, organize volunteers and improve outreach. In the United States alone, charitable organizations need an estimated 13.2 million low- or no-cost working computers.
Redemtech is helping to create an efficient channel for used computers stockpiled in corporate enterprises to reach needy schools, nonprofits and charities across the globe.
In 2006 Redemtech joined with TechSoup Global, a technology and information resource to the nonprofit community to launch the Refurbished Computer Initiative (RCI). While the RCI primarily focuses on the technology needs of nonprofits and NGOs, the program also provides IT resources to low-income families and individuals.
As a MAR, Redemtech can install “citizenship licenses” of the Windows operating system and Microsoft Office Suite – for only a nominal administration fee – on computers donated to nonprofits, educational institutions and other approved recipients. By vastly reducing costs for operating systems and other essential software, these licenses increase the number of PCs available to charities and deliver a much greater return on surplus IT.
As part of this initiative, Redemtech also offers free asset recovery and recycling services to charitable organizations that receive donated technology, helping our clients to absolve e-waste liability concerns at end of life.
